PolycoreŽ Shutters by Sunland Shutters are the result of nearly 12 years of customer research and development.
These innovative aluminum reinforced shutters have the traditional look of wood shutters with all of the advantages of synthetic materials. All of the stiles, rails and louvers are made with coextruded aluminum reinforcement.

What this means is that the aluminum core is actually extruded into the solid polymer at the same time the component is made.
This creates a very strong, rigid and durable component. The aluminum reinforced louvers, rails, and stiles make PolycoreŽ shutters
as straight as an arrow. The co-extruded aluminum reinforcement allows PolycoreŽ shutters to be assembled with screws for superior strength, unlike other poly shutters that are only glued together.

Polycore'sŽ synthetic composition means that they are very durable and will outlast draperies and other window coverings. PolycoreŽ shutters are also moisture resistant, perfect for use in bathrooms, over kitchen sinks, or other humid or hot environments. The water based paint us on all PolycoreŽ R shutters meets all US AQMD requirements with a VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) rating of near zero.

All PolycoreŽ Shutters are GREENGUARDŽ Indoor Air Quality and Children & Schools certified. This means that GreenGuard, through third Party testing, has certified that PolycoreŽ Shutter have passed a series of test meeting the stringent standards for low chemical emissions based on established health standards.

llustrated below are four (4) installation methods. You may modify any of these by using either # 3 or # 4 hang strips for traditional style panels, or # 4 or # 5 hang strips for plantation style panels. The hang strips may be attached in any direction, and may be trimmed as desired. The shutters are attached directly to the jamb of the window. The shutters are attached to a hang strip and the hang strip is attached to the window jamb with screws. You can use either # 3, # 4, or # 5 hang strips, turned in any direction, depending on your window opening and shutter style. Hang strips may be trimmed as needed. A hang strip on each side of the shutters attaches to the wall. The inside edge of the strip should be slightly beyond the window opening. This installation method is typically used when an inside installation is not possible or the opening is not square. It provides more space behind the shutter for louvers to rotate open. A hang strip on each side of the shutters attaches to a flat portion of the trim. The strip does not have to be located exactly as shown above, but may be located anywhere on the trim so long as there is enough flat surface. It is important to make certain the louvers can be rotated fully open.
